Happy New Year !!

So 2009 has passed and we’re into 2010. Where have the last ten years gone? So much has happened it’s been a rollercoaster ride which came and passed by. Well here’s to 2010 and wishing everyone a Happy New Year.

It’s going to be an exciting year hopefully. So much to look forward to. This year I will be starting my Project 365. Basically, the aim is to take one photo a day, and post it on my blog and flickr for all to view. I’ve downloaded the Project365 iPhone app to help me along the way. I hope you enjoy my photos over the coming year.

Next up.. January 17th.. Jack Bauer & 24 return with a 4 hour 2 day special event kicking off Day 8. Awesome. Some time further in the year, Lost will return with its final season and hopefully it will explain to us Lost fans what’s been going on over the last five seasons..

No hope for Liverpool in the Champions League this year, but we still have the Europa League and the F.A Cup to look forward to, and there’s always the challenge for the top 4 positions. Come on you Reds!!! Bring home a trophy this year..

June, will bring us the 2010 World Cup in South Africa… well that’s the summer sorted. Even if it rain’s all summer, who cares? I’m gonna be indoors watching the World Cup !!

Well those are the main things I’m looking forward to in 2010.. along with a new iPhone.. Come on Apple you know it’s time to step up and show these other smartphones why there’s only one iPhone !!!

So let the year begin…

One Night In Istanbul

Do you Remember the night? "Hello, Hello, Here we go...it's Steven Gerrard", and then came the comeback of all comebacks. A night that no Liverpool fan will ever forget. A night of football which will remain in the hearts of Liverpool fan's the world over. Simply amazing..

This is one of them nights of football I will always remember. When we have a bad match day, I remember the good times, not the bad...forget losing to fulham, arsenal or tottenham, remember we are Liverpool FC, where dreams come true. We lifted the European trophy after having no hope whatsoever, so we keep faith in our team in hope of that elusive Premiership title. You'll Never Walk Alone !!!

Enjoy these videos from that one night in Istanbul.

Another day, another defeat for the Reds

Can it get any worse than this? 18 League games played, won 8, drew 3, lost 7. After our midweek win over Wigan, Liverpool were hoping for a second consecutive win, but unfortunately that was not meant to be.

Liverpool started off well but a lack of concentration and sloppy defending was just about enough for Nadir Belhadj to put the home side in front after 33 minutes, smashing home the Premier Leagues 500th goal of this season.

Shortly after that, Liverpool had Javier Mascherano sent off for a tackle on Tal Ben Haim just before half-time. This was the turning point of the game. Having gone down to ten men, the task of not just equalising against Portsmouth, but to win just got a lot more difficult.

A below par performance by the narrow midfield and lack of passing and playmaking only just helped unease the Liverpool players further.

Frederic Piquionne secured the points eight minutes from time, slotting home from a tight angle to give Pompey a chance of moving off the bottom of the table if West Ham lose to Chelsea tomorrow.

Steven Gerrard came close to pulling a goal back in the last few minutes, but it was one of them days, where nothing goes right for you. In fact, it’s just been that kind of season.

Wolves next at Anfield in midweek. Hopefully, they’ll field their reserve team like they did against Manchester United in midweek.

A very disappointing performance. After the game, Rafa Benitez blamed Javier Mascherano’s sending off for the defeat at Fratton Park. Now we lose Mascherano through suspension, as well as his injury he picked up during the tackle which got him sent off.

We really need to pick ourselves up and start performing. If we carry on like this we will be in big trouble. But in Rafa we trust and surely things can not get any worse than they already are ..

Till Wednesday, You’ll Never Walk Alone.
